CCN Land Use Planning Update
Thank you to everyone who attended our Community Land Use Planning meeting in April and shared their ideas. At this meeting, we talked about the Cheslatta community, its lands, and more generally about the future of Cheslatta Carrier Nation. We also talked about key community areas like Danskin and important considerations like forestry and the Camp Out. If you missed it but would like to provide input, please contact Jessi Jack (250 694-3334, jjack@cheslatta.com) or Emily Gray (604 235-1701, egray@urbansystems.ca) to get a Feedback Form.
You can also click here to look at a map that shows Cheslatta’s lands and some important community places. Jessi or Emily can give you the login information. There might be some questions posted on Facebook, so keep checking the Cheslatta Carrier Nation page.
The Land Use Plan will help Cheslatta create goals and principles to guide how we use our lands in the future. It will build on all our hard work on the Comprehensive Community Plan. It is helpful for leadership to know how you would like to use Cheslatta lands, so that they can make informed decisions on behalf of the community. It will also help Cheslatta begin some long-term projects to increase community services and housing in the community.
We encourage every member to participate in planning the future of Cheslatta land and properties. It is your land and your future!
Mussi.
